Last updated: August 31, 2026
Welcome to the website of Friends of Monte Vista Montessori ("Friends of MVM," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FriendsofMVM.net (the "Site"), including making donations, registering for events, and viewing information about our organization.
By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About Us
Friends of Monte Vista Montessori is a nonprofit organization, organized under the laws of the State of Texas and recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN 46-546243, that supports Monte Vista Montessori through fundraising, events, and community engagement. Friends of MVM is a separate organization from Monte Vista Montessori school; the school does not operate this Site and is not responsible for its content.
2. Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use of the Site. You agree not to:
-
Use the Site in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law
-
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or computer systems connected to the Site
-
Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation, including introducing viruses or other harmful code
-
Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or collect data from the Site without our permission
-

We do not require you to create an account to use the Site.
3. Donations
3.1 General
The Site allows you to make one-time or recurring donations to support Friends of MVM. All donations are voluntary and, except as described below, are non-refundable.
3.2 Payment Processing
Donations are processed by a third-party payment processor ("Payment Processor"). We do not directly collect or store your full payment card or bank account information — that information is collected and stored by the Payment Processor in accordance with its own terms of service and privacy policy, which you should review before donating. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or security practices of any Payment Processor.
3.3 Recurring Donations
If you set up a recurring (subscription) donation, your Payment Processor will automatically charge your selected payment method on the schedule you choose (e.g., monthly) until you cancel. You may cancel or modify a recurring donation at any time by [contacting us at [EMAIL] / using the link in your donation confirmation email / logging into the Payment Processor's portal]. We will process cancellation requests as promptly as reasonably possible, but a request received close to a scheduled charge date may not take effect until after that charge has been processed.
3.4 Tax Deductibility
Friends of MVM is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive a donation receipt for your records. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any specific donation.
3.5 Refunds
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error (e.g., duplicate charge or incorrect amount), please contact us at [EMAIL] within [30] days and we will review your request in good faith.
4. Event Registration
The Site may allow you to register for events hosted or sponsored by Friends of MVM. When you register, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.
-
Fees. Some events may require a registration fee, processed through our Payment Processor as described in Section 3.2.
-
Cancellations by you. Refund and cancellation policies for a specific event, if any, will be stated on that event's registration page. Absent a stated policy, event fees are non-refundable.
-
Cancellations or changes by us. We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify any event. If we cancel an event, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registrants and, where a fee was paid, provide a refund or credit as appropriate.
-
Capacity. Registration does not guarantee a spot if an event reaches capacity; we will notify you if we are unable to accommodate your registration.
-
Photography. Friends of MVM events may be photographed or recorded for use in newsletters, social media, or promotional materials. By attending an event, you acknowledge this unless you notify us in advance that you do not wish to be photographed.
5. Children's Information
This Site is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adult members of our community — not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Site. Any information about students provided through event registration or similar forms (such as a child's name for an event headcount) is provided by a parent or guardian and used solely for the stated purpose (e.g., planning event attendance).
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and the Friends of MVM name and any associated branding — is owned by or licensed to Friends of MVM and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, unless otherwise noted. You may view and share Site content for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise use it for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Any content you submit to the Site (such as comments, testimonials, or photos) remains yours, but by submitting it you grant Friends of MVM a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with operating and promoting the Site and our organization.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (including our Payment Processor, social media platforms, or the Monte Vista Montessori school website). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that information on the Site is complete, accurate, or current.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friends of MVM and its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to us through the Site in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Friends of MVM and its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our [Privacy Policy], which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand our practices.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice (such as a notice on the Site).
13. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas.
